Cross of Glory Nursery School, a ministry of Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, is conveniently located at 95 Cambridge Drive in Aberdeen, New Jersey. We offer a developmentally appropriate, Christian-based educational environment dedicated to the growth and development of the individual child. We opened our doors in September 2000.

Our environment is carefully planned for the children. They are offered a variety of experiences which encourage them to explore, discover, and create. Children learn through play and by participating in activities with other children. By providing an active learning environment, we help children develop emotionally, intellectually, socially, physically, and spiritually.

We welcome children who are 2½ to 4 years of age by October 1st of the current school year. Separate classes are available for each age group.

How Your Child will Grow . . .

Our Curriculum is designed to help each child develop by participating in various activities, which include:

Dramatic Play

Dramatic Play

When children learn the art of telling stories, it makes them smarter—giving them a head start on success in school and life.

Creative Art Experiences

Creative Art Experiences

We encourage creativity and artistic expression with fun and easy art activities such as craft projects and watercolor painting.

Block Building

Block Building

Blocks help children learn to take turns and share, develop new friendships, become self-reliant, increase attention span, and cooperate with others.

Music

Music

Music ignites all areas of child development and skills for school readiness, including intellectual, social-emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy. It also helps the body and the mind work together.

Movement & Physical Play

Movement & Physical Play

During play, children learn to move, balance, and lift things. This helps them develop the fundamental movement skills that will help them stay active in later life. As children grow, physical play will also help them to stay healthy and active.

Sensory Experiences

Sensory Experiences

Sensory encourages learning through exploration, curiosity, problem solving and creativity. It helps to build nerve connections in the brain and encourages the development of language and motor skills.

Group Games & Discussion

Group games are a good way of teaching social skills. They learn about taking turns, using manners, and sharing. Children learn the importance of being kind and experience what it feels like to receive kindness from others.

Environmental Exploration

Children learn to appreciate the natural world and to develop a sense of wonder and curiosity about it. By connecting with nature, children develop a sense of well-being and a connection to the world around them.

Book Sharing & Story Telling

Children learn vital skills for reading and writing, but sharing books also helps with talking, listening, and communication skills. Sharing books also encourages imagination, curiosity, and emotions.

Outdoor Recreation

Outdoor play helps children grow socially, helping them to develop healthy ways of forming friendships, responding to physical interaction while aiding in their growth and development.

Manipulative Toys

Manipulative Toys

Manipulative toy play is about learning to use your hands. Fine motor skills develop through a number of different stages from sensory awareness to in-hand manipulation and tool-use.

Cooking

Cooking helps children learn and practice some basic math concepts and build language skills. Following recipes also encourages children to be self- directed and independent.
